WELCOME TO MY WORLD

WHO AM I?

An alumnus of New York University Abu Dhabi, I am a motivated individual who pursued a double-major in Computer Science and Mathematics. My interests primarily lie in the intersection of data science and the human behavior, and I hope to specialize in web development and/or machine learning in the long run.

I am currently based in Dubai, UAE, but I frequently visit my home city of Lahore, Pakistan. I am open to opportunities in both industry and academia.

PRIMARY SKILLS

PROJECT WORK

RECOVERY OF
PAIR-SPARSE SIGNALS
PROJECT

• Adapted Soussen et al.'s "single best replacement algorithm" to the specialized restoration of pair-sparse signals while working with Professor Ivan Selesnick (Electrical and Computer Engineering)
• Developed MATLAB implementation of a custom greedy algorithm that recovered signal spikes via stepwise regression
• Improved original approach's accuracy by ~50 percent for the recovery of noisy signals when the signal-to-noise ratio is around 100

UNIBIDS
MARKETPLACE

• Led a team of four engineers, utilizing agile software methodologies, to develop an online bidding marketplace solution for students to sell and bid for products from campus community, providing sustainable solution to 1500+ users
• Programmed back-end REST API, and hosted server and database through Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB Atlas, and Heroku
• Designed interactive front-end interface using React, with React Routers being used to implement routing, Axios being used to access APIs, and React Context being used to configure user authentication and authorization

EXTRACTIVE SUMMARIZATION
OF COVID-19
MEDICINAL ARTICLES

• Wrote research paper for "CSCI-UA 480-057: Natural Language Processing" course on various techniques that can be used to produce machine-extracted summaries of COVID-19 research articles
• Collaborated with two other students in conducting literature review and writing an original scientific article
• Primarily responsible for data processing and producing an adaptation of TF-IDF vector generation technique that gave greater weightage to medical terms produced through the open-source "Termolator" tool

HANDLEBARS
FITNESS TRACKER
WEBSITE

• Developed front-end and back-end of web application (handlebars-fitness-tracker.herokuapp.com) with support for exercise-tracking and personalized exercises searches
• Implemented asynchronous JavaScript with Fetch.js, user authentication with Passport.js, and online hosting with Heroku and MongoDB Atlas

ALIENATION
GAME

• Designed atmosphere and wrote the story for point-and-click adventure for weekend-long game development contest ”NYU Global Game Jam 2021”
• Implemented story progression mechanism, collision detection, automated movement, and environmental assets through Unity and C# scripts

PERSONAL
PORTFOLIO
WEBSITE

• Design and implement an up-to-date portfolio website to showcase my personal profile
• Utilizing HTML, CSS (including Bootstrap) and JavaScript for web development purposes

BRICK BLAST
GAME

• Worked with an undergraduate student partner to design a desktop derivative of the popular mobile game "Brick Blast Ball"
• Designed original randomized algorithms to provide infinite gameplay through procedurally generated levels
• Built innovative cannonball collision mechanic based on the Physics model of light
• Project implemented through Python and Processing, and presented at a showcase with over 150 student attendees

RESEARCH ON
SALES FORCE AUTOMATION
IN PAKISTAN

• Worked under Mr. Luqman Awan, Economics instructor at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), to conduct case studies of Sale Force Automation's viability across different manufacturing and service sectors
• Article incorporated into LUMS curriculum and is taught to ~400 students annually
